AI 10 3-10-11 And Now there are 12
We are on the race to the finale, the first elimination round of season 10. This is AMERICAN IDOL.
The over the top introductory videos continue and this one had its moments but they are just filler given we have an hour to get through before someone is sent packing.
I let it slide yesterday but I must continue my rant about the introduction of our judges and host. This is just over the top and unnecessary. Last night Ryan walked down a flight of stairs. Ryan and the judges the show is not about you it is about the contestants. We should be able to cut the results show to a half hour.
America casted 30,000,000 votes last night but unfortunately someone will have to go home this evening unless the judges’ use their one save of the season. The decision to use the save must be unanimous. It is available up to the top five.
I am not sure what the rest of America saw but last night’s date delay had some serious editing issues, it was as if they were purposely cutting out things, almost like the 10-second delay for potential language. I found it very strange.
As the top 13 were announced Ryan pointed out, Casey Abrams was missing because he was in the hospital.
Cue the video montage of the contestants moving into their Beverly Hills Mansion. They may be getting a taste of the good life but I thought the clip bordered on ridiculous.
I was hoping it was not going to happen but time for a group medley of Michael Jackson songs no less. I am not sure if it was the sudden loss of Casey or not but I thought the entire medley was poorly put together both vocally and through the choreography. They all sounded horrible. James also grew his tail back.
Cue the Ford music video because after all someone has to pay the bills for the show.
Cue the next video montage, which is about our contestants attending the “Red Riding Hood” movie premiere and walking the red carpet. Is that Amanda Siegfried in the audience? Why yes it is? I wonder why she is there; wait could it be that she is shilling for her movie. You have to love Fox and the producers for getting every advertising dollar they can.
Ryan then calls Jacob, Karen and Stefano to center stage in the build up for the bottom three. Karen is on her way to the uncomfortable chairs.
Adam Lambert is here to perform an unplugged version of his new song, “Aftermath”, and the performance freaking rocked. This my dear contestants is how you do it!
Ryan then calls Lauren, Haley, and Ashthon to the center stage and announces Haley and Ashthon are in the bottom three. Everyone else is safe.
Wow, Diddy Dirty Money is about to perform and Ronald is so excited – NOT! This was another terrible performance and I would not even call it singing.
Time for the big reveal as Lauren and Haley are safe which means Ashthon must lip sync for her life. Oh wait, that is another show.
Ashthon chooses to perform her song from last night and unfortunately, it was not any better. It was cruel making her sing because there was no way the judges would use the save on the first night. Jennifer delivers the bad news explaining the decision was unanimous not to use the save. Live the dream Ashthon.
I was only right about one contestant in the bottom three but I did predict the correct contestant to leave.
Well there are now 12 and I will see you here next week.
