AI7 - 4/16/08 And Now There are 6

Last night we had another interesting results show. It is amazing how they can drag this out for one hour.

The opening group number of "One Sweet Day" was not that great and poor Jason was so off pitch at the beginning it was torture listening to it. Kristy Lee Cook wasn't much better and then she was tapping her mike. Don't even get me started on the mosh pit girls. I thought the whole group was off and finding it hard to be connected with the music.

We had a long montage about Tuesday's show which I thought went on forever before they started the lining of contestants. They did the put 3 on one side and 3 on the other and than made poor David Archuleta try and decide which side he should be in. I laughed that he did what the other contestants have done by sitting in the middle.

I enjoyed the Ford commercial last night, it wasn't as great as last week's but it is in the 10 ten. It is probably because I live in cubicle hell so using the song "I Want to Break Free" was pretty ingenious.

Elliott Yamin was on stage to perform "Free". It was the first time he performed where his mother wasn't on the stage, she died recently. I thought he did a very nice job but he was having severe breath control problems but the vocals were great. He looked good except for the stupid scarf.

I hate the question and answer period but I did have to laugh during the question about what was the first album the judge's bought and Simon indicated he was 10 and bought Paula's "Straight Up" and then the disguised sexual banter and Paula's excellent retort that she would never be his "Forever Girl".

Mariah Carey sang a song from her new album "Bye Bye". Mariah looked hot in that very short black dress and low neck line as well as those killer shoes. It rivaled my favorite from her Grammy appearance oh so long ago performing "Vision of Love". I enjoyed the performance but she had some breathing problems and her end note was hideous.

The bottom 3 was Syesha, Brooke, and Kristy so I was .667 percent correct.

I missed on the elimination as Kirsty Lee Cooke was sent home which was surprising because her vocals were better on Tuesday not perfect but absolutely better than Brooke who clearly came close to going home as Syesha was safe.

America definitely has some strange voting patterns. I was just happy to see all those extra votes I dialed for Carly paid off because she was safe. Yeah!

Well until next week. I will be in Washington DC so once again I will get to vote for 4 hours!
