American Idol 6 Results Top 12 Revealed 3/8/07

Luckily I caught an earlier flight so I missed the first 10 minutes but I was in front of the television set to see Jared being eliminated. Last night's show was most interesting.

I will say the only bright spot of the whole evening was Antonella getting the boot, I was jumping out of my chair and screaming in joy, yes I also did my happy dance.

The rest of eliminations did not make me happy, the fact that Sanjaya is still here while Sundance and Sabrina were sent home is a travesty. While Sundance was uneven he is still better then Sanjaya. I can't even say how wrong it is that Sabrina was not voted through but Haley was, good heavens.

I think Simon had it right, America has the volume turned off. Clearly the love struck teenage girls have more text power then the horny teenage boys.

The big announcement was really a big plug about how humanitarian American Idol is going to be. On 4/24 when we are down to the top 6, there is going to be a big show and for every vote counted all their sponsors will be donating money to address hunger, education, etc. On 4/25 America can call and donate as well. Quincy Jones (he of "We Are The World") is writing a special song to be song by our American Idol hopefuls. The roster of stars was pretty impressive except for Borat but oh well.

The one thing that totally ticked me off last night is that while Kellie Pickler who didn't win got much air time banter with Ryan but for Carrie Underwood who won plus has multiple awards just got to sing. What is wrong with this picture?

Well next week all bets are off and no longer separate of the men and women. Sanjaya has to go, he can't make it to the top 10.
