AI 7 - Elimination Round 2 - 2/28/08

Elimination episodes can be very interesting and last night's had several moments.

I am not quite sure America got it right this week but many times they don't. Only 1 or 25% of my predictions were sent home although I did throw in one of the actual eliminate contestants as a possibility.

The men eliminated were Jason Yeager (my one correct guess) and Robbie Carrico (this is the one I said might go) and for the women Alexandrea Lushington and Alaina Whitaker. It is fascinating the young contestants are being knocked out somewhat quickly. Our two women are both teenagers and as far as I am concerned can sing better then Amanda and Kady but who no one ever listens to me AMERICA!

Clearly Luke Menard is getting the vote because he is pretty.

Overall the hour results show moved along fairly quickly. I did actually like the opening group number and surprisingly they sounded pretty good even Amanda who clearly listened to Paula and toned down the whole extreme make-up and hair, I actually could hear the words when she sang.

The eliminations were apparently emotional for the contestants, I will chuck it up to age, David Archuleta was crying more then the contestants eliminated outside of Alaina. I guess I have some heart because her elimination was getting to me but it was nice to see she rose above it and I actually think her sign off with "Hopelessly Devoted to you" was much better then the previous night.

I still don't get Amanda and how she made it through, I guess all the Hell's Angels have her number on speed dial.

March 11th is when the top 12 will be performing on a new stage singing the songs of The Beatles. I guess we are stuck in the 60's and 70's again.

April 9th will be Idol Gives Back or there will be no elimination and two will go the next week.
