AI 9 3-4-10 Elimination Round 2 - The Results
What four will be leaving tonight? Drama is about to unfold on this stage. Ready? This is AMERICAN IDOL!
I had a pick-up rehearsal last night so I watched the show via tape, which is the best way to watch the results show. I can fast forward through the commercials as well as the other crap that fills times.
There were 27,000,000 votes over the two nights of voting and the results are in.
The top 20 are doing another group number and tonight’s song is “I’ve Gotta Feeling”. I love this song and this was an utter mess. I found it out of tune and boring for which this song definitely is not. These contestants are so lazy they could not even fake it. The lip-synching was terrible.
The guys are up first for elimination since they went first this week. The back row stands with Tim, “Big Mike”, Casey, and Todrick being safe. John Park is going home. Ronald is now one for one on his predictions.
I must say if John sang as well as he did during his encore as he did on Tuesday he might not be going home. There was something relaxed about the performance and there is a beautiful rich tone to his voice. Potential ruined due to poor song choice. These contestants need to hire me as their song selector.
The front row is ready for their fate. Lee, Aaron, Alex and Andrew are safe which means, yes, Ronald was right again, Mr. Diva Jermaine Sellers is heading home. Interesting how last night he knew it was god’s plan for him to continue but tonight this is not the case. Jermaine indicates, “I’ll say this, in God, there is no failure.” This may be true but when you suck, this is American Idol and you need to get off the stage. I would suggest learning to shut up, get some humility, and take grammar lessons.
Danny Gokey is here to pimp his new album with the country flair. I did like the song itself while the performance was lacking and I am not sure why.
The girls fates are about to be revealed. The back row finds Lilly, Paige, Katie, and Didi all being safe. Michelle is heading home and Ronald is now three for three. Wow, this is a surprise.
Michelle gave a rousing encore and improved from last night’s performance.
The final five wait for the results. Katelyn, Crystal, Siobhan, and Lacey are safe which means Haeley is going home and she ends my streak of correct predictions. I am happy America is actually listening to the contestants.
Haeley’s encore was even worse than last night. This was just a painful performance to listen to and it is why crying 16-year olds should never sing on national TV. It was not helping there was a chorus of girls off to the side weeping and singing as one voice. Cry me a river. NOT!
There is one more week of eliminations and we will have our top 12 with one of those being the next American Idol.
